UPDATE: CNN is still reporting that the Al Aska Martyrs Brigade, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have all agreed to a three month truce.
According to Ha’aretz Hamas talking head Rantisi is denying it.
Considering that those three organizations ultimate goal is the complete destruction of Israel I tend to believe Rantisi.
CNN BREAKING NEWS: Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades agree to 3-month cessation of attacks against Israelis, senior Palestinian officials said. Full story soon.
Hogwash I say!
this work?
The new Mayor of Jerusalem is being tested by the haredim. Now that Olmert is no longer in power whatever backroom deal he made with haredi leaders to stop their rioting on Bar-Ilan street is apparently now void and defunct.
He may have condemned the stone throwers but we’ll see what action he’ll take. I assume that these thugs will continue throwing stones at passing cars this coming shabbat as well. I have driven on Bar Ilan street only a handful of times - once on Shabbat. I might have to davka take a ride there this weekend.
Oh and while we are the topic of Mayor Lupolianski he once again demonstrated his true colors by not showing up at a meeting of the Zionist Council, an offshoot of the Jewish Agency. (Report)
In the past he has snubbed Reform leaders, cancelled a campaign appearance at a Conservative synagogue and cancelled an Israel independence Day event. Eventually his non-pluralistic and anti-Zionist outlook is going to catch up with him.
I just hope it’s sooner than later.
Neo-Nazis serving in the IDF? Say it ain’t so.
Although I don’t quite get everything they write about, the good kids of Protocols have a first class blog. Interesting glimpse into a different world. Respect.
Israel is so gay.
t.A.T.u. canceled their scheduled appearances here in Israel. I knew that a Russian psuedo-lesbian pop duo couldn’t be trusted.
Kabbalah-lite follower Madonna has announced plans to shoot her new video here in Israel. The music video will be for her latest single, ‘Nothing Fails,’ from her horrible french techno album, American Life.
Rupaul, one of the worlds most famous transvestite will also be making an appearance here. She’ll be performing at the gay pride parade in Tel Aviv.
Speaking of gay pride, the parade in Jerusalem was supposed to have taken place last week but was postponed due last week’s suicide bombing. Gay flags have been up in Jerusalem for over a week now. It’s a surreal site. Several Kach activists ripped down the flags and torched them.
Mayor Lupolianski to his credit and my shock condemned these acts:
Jerusalem’s newly-elected ultra-Orthodox mayor, Uri Lupolianski, condemned the behavior of the Kach members, saying that gays and lesbians have a right to to hold their parade.
“Everyone has his march of the living,” he was quoted as saying, adding that he himself marches in other parades.
Although Shas MK Nissim Ze’ev had something completely different to say:
Shas MK Nissim Ze’ev refused to condemn the flag-burning, but said the parade should be forbidden. The gay-lesbian community “is a marginal, fringe group, and they must not be given a public stage.”
Considering their are more gay citizens than there are Shas voters, does that make Shas a fringe group too?
Why isn’t this front page news?
Hamas stated today that every Israeli every Israeli is a target.
So no change in policy for Hamas, huh?
Victory for porn lovers in Israel.
Here is a story from The Jerusalem Post on Kenny Sachs, a friend of mine who was wounded in reserve duty last Sunday.
