Dear Blog,

Once again I have been ignoring you.

Please accept my apologies. My current living situation leaves me without an internet connection.

Blogging at work just isn’t an option.

Things will return to normal. I promise.

Patience is a virtue.

Love,

Harry

This movie looks quite interesting. I have been following it’s progress for a while now. It used to be called The Jerusalem Syndrome and changed the title to The Holy Land.

It’s the story of an American yeshiva student in Israel who at the urging of a Rabbi visits a prostitute and he eventually falls in love with her.

The trailer can be viewed at quicktime.com.

Some of the movie takes place at Mike’s Place and ‘Mike’ is one of the major characters.

Mike’s Place in Jerusalem is an interesting place. Rumor has it that David Koresh recruited Pablo Cohen, his only Israeli follower there.

I got to say I am very disappointed that this movie won’t be playing at the Jerusalem Film Festival.

The writer and director Eitan Gorlin lived in Israel for a bit and served as a gunner in the Armored Corp. As did a more well known director - Ethan Coen.

Moving to Modi’in

While America was celebrating their independence on Thursday we celebrated our independence from landlords. We finally signed a contract and purchased a beautiful home in Modi’in.

Modi’in is a relatively new town smack between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. If your interested you can read about it here and here.

Modi’in is the ancient home of the Maccabees. I came up with a slogan for the town.

Modi’in - where it’s Channukah 365 days a year.

It’s funny because the weekend edition of Ma’ariv had an article on the top ten things you should be spending your money on this summer.

Number 4? A house in Modi’in. So we are quite happy with our investment.

We spent the entire weekend packing because we need to be out of our rented apartment by Thursday. Our original plans fell through so we need to find a place to rent for a month within the next couple of days. Anyone got any leads?

Ah, the stress. I just don’t have time to worry about hundas, Iranian missile threats, Hamas, Haredi stone throwers, anti-Semitic Oxford professors and Arafat’s ramblings.

I have my own problems.
