The View from Here - Five Years Young
Hard to believe this blog is five years old today. Back when I started I think there were maybe four other Israelis blogging in English. It was a nice time for the Israeli blogosphere. These days there is too much information, too many opinions (most being to right-wing or way too left-wing. Where are the centrists? Same Same. But Different.
I haven’t had the blog mojo for quite some time now. The past few years has had its ups and downs and there are some things I just don’t enjoy sharing with the world. Also, I’ve been so uber-frustrated with the state of the nation that I don’t feel infuriating myself further by writing about things that irk me.
My entire world has changed in the past year. I’ve embarked on building a business (which is doing quite well thank you), busting my ass on Jerusalemite (launching soon, I promise) and the most important change has been the addition of an incredibly inspiring little family member. I’ve fallen into cliche territory I’m afraid. Little Tzofie is my entire world and when I’m not working I rather be sitting down strumming my guitar for her. She reached for the guitar strings for the first time a couple of days ago. It was the defining moment of my life. So I’m not really sure what the status of this here blog is. And that’s all I have to say about that.
Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia University
One of the world’s biggest tyrants who among other things has participated in hostage taking, believes the Holocaust is a myth, calls for the destruction of the state of Israel and who has jailed numerous bloggers has been invited to speak at Columbia University.
May he be tasered by Columbia security. Amen.
So…Syria….
This is by far the most comprehensive article I’ve read thus far on the “situation” with Syria.
